Gabriel Argy-Rousseau "Lyciet de Barbarie" Pâte de Verre Glass Vase
This French pâte de verre floral-patterned vase, entitled "Lyciet de Barbarie," by Gabriel Argy-Rousseau, is a subtly-hued piece that most centrally features band along its upper portion of bunches of pinkish wolf berries off of a matrimony vine, executed in wonderful relief, framed by a halo of dangling brownish green leaves, all against a vignette ground of amber, honey and white. The composition is completed by the elegant lines, curving downward, that serve as the stems.
