Jeanne Toussaint was an early proponent of Indian design at Cartier. When Louis Cartier appointed her artistic director in 1933, her creativity and design genius ushered in the era of "Le Gout Toussaint." Emerald, lapis, and turquoise beads studded with diamonds have been a signature of the Toussaint-Cartier style ever since.
