Such beautifully-designed antique pendant earrings as these rarely survive in their original form. In their mountings of silver-topped gold, the jeweler achieved highly refined lightness and movement. Lost over time, or altered to satisfy short-lived hairstyles and fashions, antique earrings displaying unity of design, high quality stones, and refined workmanship are a great rarity.
