Curator's Notes
According to historian Sylvie Raulet, the workshop of Robert Ehret and his successors was one of the select group with which Van Cleef & Arpels collaborated to realize its mid-century designs. The relationship began with a known group of Art Moderne rings, designed by Renée Van Cleef Puissant and René Sim Lecaze, manufactured by Ehret circa the 1930s to 1940s. The distinguished and talented group of creators to which Ehret belonged also included Verger, Rubel, L'enfant and Péry.
