Tiffany Studios New York "Damascene Harp" Desk Lamp
This desk lamp by Tiffany Studios, dating from circa 1910, features a damascene favrile glass shade on an adjustable patinated bronze harp base. With dichroic amber-golden and green tones, the subtly iridescent shade is suspended from an adjustable top joining slender, harp form arms raised on a base resembling a many-petalled bell or trumpet flower with muted red and green patination. This visually stimulating desk or table lamp provides a warm glow and, with its adjustable shade, useful directional light - a small and beautiful artifact of Louis Tiffany’s fruitful life spent exploring the phenomena of light and color.
