This exquisite Gazelle et Fleurs vase depicts red gazelles prancing through a field of orange blossoms. Gazelles were a popular motif in Egyptian and Persian art, symbolizing grace, swiftness, and the vitality of the natural world. The background is enriched with splotches of amethyst glass and a lower border of softly curving grasses. The gazelle motif also resonated with contemporaries such as Paul Manship, George Barbier, and Jean Dunand, who each drew upon its elegant, dynamic form in their work.
