Péry et Fils was founded in the 19th century, and quietly rose to importance as an essential manufacturer for Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier in the 1920s . They were selected by Van Cleef & Arpels to manufacture the original "Zip" necklace, a multi-year engineering effort among the Duchess of Windsor, who originated the idea, Renée Puissant, and Péry. The firm was finally absorbed into the Richemont group, owners of Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier, in 2012.
