Literature: A similar tapering strap bracelet dating from 1980 composed of pearls and cabochon rubies appears in Rene Boivin Jeweller, by Françoise Cailles, p. 374.
Though late in their production, this bracelet exemplifies important fundamentals of Boivin design. To quote from the studio's own expression of artistic purpose, this jewel epitomizes one of the firm's "highly elaborate structural compositions based on intricate designs involving ellipses and other circular figures. The result is an imposing object with a comfortable sense of weight and identity - in short, a sculpture."
