This pair of Tiffany Studios New York “Two-Light” sconces transforms a restrained architectural framework into an elegant botanical composition. Each sconce is anchored by a simple circular backplate, from which two slender, intertwined bronze arms rise in graceful, sinuous curves. Their twisting forms evoke the stems of living plants, lending a sense of organic movement to the otherwise symmetrical design. At the end of each stem, the bronze opens into a budding floral socket that cradles a tulip-shaped Favrile glass shade. Glowing with rich iridescent gold, the glass catches and refracts the light across its subtly rippled surface, shifting from warm amber to flashes of metallic gold and bronze.
